When the Cincinnati Bengals took the field in the autumn of 2000, they moved from the riverfront into a structure designed by NBBJ. The architects partnered with Glaser Associates Inc., Moody Nolan, and Stallworth Architecture Inc. The TBMD Joint Venture, a collaboration between Turner Construction, Barton Malow, and D.A.G., built the concrete and steel shell that would house sixty-five thousand fans. The first matchday crowd would soon turn the nickname "The Jungle" from a reference to their previous home, Riverfront Stadium, into a permanent fixture for this new venue.

The ground has lived through two official name changes. It opened as Paul Brown Stadium, honouring the founder of the franchise. That name held for twenty-two years until August 2022, when a naming rights agreement with Paycor HCM brought the current title. The surface beneath the players has also evolved. The original artificial pitch was replaced in 2024 with a new FieldTurf CORE system, a monofilament surface intended to withstand the heavy use of both the Bengals and the regional college teams that play here.

The atmosphere inside does not differ much from the view outside. The concrete perimeter walls and the suspended roof create a specific acoustic environment where the crowd roared them on, particularly during the high-profile clashes with Ohio State University. The attendance record of 67,260 was set in September 2022 against the Miami Dolphins, a figure that sits comfortably above the capacity listed on the ticket office. The stadium hosts concerts as well, drawing crowds for artists like Luke Combs and Kenny Chesney, but the football matches remain the primary reason for the structure’s existence.
