Pazo dos Deportes

The Pazo dos Deportes is a wooden-surface arena that has hosted matches since the doors opened in 1992. The first tournament hosted here brought Real Madrid, CB Breogán, Elosúa León and Maccabi Tel Aviv to Lugo. In the third-place match, Breogán defeated Maccabi Tel Aviv by a single point.

The arena sits at Av. Filarmónica Lucense and belongs to the Provincial Council of Lugo. It was designed by Jorge Zapata and Luis Gorozarri and built by Vázquez/Tejero/Álvarez. The cost was 680 million pesetas. The capacity currently stands at 5,310. A renovation in 2023 replaced the old seating with over 2,000 individual folding blue seats to meet Liga ACB requirements, a change that brought the figure down from 6,500. In 2018 the old scoreboards were swapped for LED screens from Mondo Smart Systems. A structural renovation is underway for 2024 and 2025, starting with the roof.

The attendance record remains 7,500, set on April 23, 1995, when Breogán played Valvi Girona. The venue also staged the 2021 Copa Princesa de Asturias Final and a concert by Alejandro Sanz on November 19, 1995. Breogán’s men’s team and the women’s side, Porta XI Ensino, call it home. The expansion study presented in May 2026 suggests adding seats to reach over 6,800, but that is still a proposal.
