The ground sits on the edge of the Fifth Settlement, where the city gives way to desert. This was a stadium built for a decade of ambition, opened in 2006 by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.
ENPPI SC call it home. Wadi Degla SC have also used the ground, but the stadium has hosted the biggest names in Egyptian football when security concerns made their own venues unsafe.
The stadium has never seen a record crowd, largely because many matches are held behind closed doors, but the ground itself has never lost its purpose.
