ROBE Aréna
Zubří, Czechia
Formerly: Sportovní hala Zubří
Sportovní hala Zubří became a different place entirely after the reconstruction finished on 28 February 2018. The work was done by OHL ŽS, a. s., who replaced the old floor with a wooden parquet and insulated the roof to improve energy performance. The venue was renamed after the lighting company ROBE, which sponsored the overhaul.
The capacity sits at 1,200, a figure that has not changed during the rebuild. The local handball club HC ROBE Zubří, founded in 1926, uses the hall for the Chance Extraliga. The new surface and improved conditions allowed the arena to host international fixtures, including a 2021 World Championship European Qualification playoff between the Czech Republic and Switzerland on 17 April 2021. The match ended in a 27–27 draw before the Czech side won 55–49 on aggregate.
It is not only a sporting ground. The hall hosts the annual Valašský Pohár tournament and local cultural events like Advent concerts. Located at Hlavní 492, the building serves the community through both sport and performance.
