It was the stage for Đồng Tâm Long An’s golden era, hosting championship wins in 2005 and 2006 under coach Calisto. Those victories happened on natural grass. The ground also saw the team finish as runners-up in 2003 and third in 2004, before the silence of recent years set in. The highest attendance was ten thousand for an AFC Champions League group stage match in 2007 against Adelaide United.

The stadium opened in the early 1980s, though sources disagree on whether 1984 marks the completion of the original build or the start of the current facility. It sits at 7 Trương Định Street, a location that has become tangled in administrative changes. Mergers between Long An and Tây Ninh have shifted the borders, but the concrete remains in the former province. In 2026, a proposal to convert the site into a public square stalled after an auction was halted due to legal irregularities.
