Inside, however, the space has lived through several changes. The original roof was a metal cable net that held the hall together for decades, but when Cyril Mandel came to work on it in the 1980s, that structure was replaced by something more conventional.

The space can hold 2,192 people when the telescopic tribunes are deployed, though the absolute maximum is 2,500 when every standing area is filled. That last figure is what matters, because that is where the record sits. It was set in April 2023, when the EuroLeague Women Final Four brought two teams to Prague and the doors were closed tight.

The hall is not an old cathedral of the sport, but it is busy. It hosted the Final Four in 2015 as well, and it took the EuroBasket Women tournament in 2017 alongside the O2 Arena. It has also seen the floorball crowd, before Tatran Střešovice moved on.
