Sportska dvorana Laktaši

The Sportska dvorana Laktaši does not announce its arrival. It sits in the Jakupovci neighbourhood, a quiet stretch of the city where the basketball club KK Igokea plays its home games. The building is unassuming—single-storey, brick, with a pitched roof that blends into the surrounding streets. Inside, the parquet floor is polished to a shine, and the stands rise in smooth tiers, their terrazzo steps worn smooth by years of footsteps. There is no glass facade, no signage beyond a simple "Sportska dvorana" sign above the main entrance. The arena feels lived-in, not designed for spectacle.

It opened in the autumn of 2010, after two years of construction funded by the International Rehabilitation Board and the Republic of Srpska's development program. The architect was Mihailo Lujak from Belgrade, and the heating was provided by Mistrade d.o.o., who installed three oil-fired boilers connected to the municipal district system. The cost was approximately 15 million KM. The facility was officially opened on October 6, 2010, with Milorad Dodik, President of the Government of Republika Srpska, and Milovan Topolović, Head of the Municipality of Laktaši, in attendance.

KK Igokea has called this place home since its founding. The arena has hosted numerous ABA League matches, including games against Crvena zvezda, Partizan, Cibona, and Cedevita. The 2018 ABA Super Cup was held here, with Crvena zvezda emerging victorious. On December 4, 2021, Igokea faced Partizan in front of 2,500 spectators. A month earlier, in January 2020, they played Crvena zvezda in a packed house. The arena also hosts cultural events and concerts, such as Milica Pavlović's "Lav Tour" on November 15, 2024.

The venue is owned by the Municipality of Laktaši and managed by the public institution "Javna ustanova Sportska dvorana Laktaši." It has a seating capacity of 3,050 spectators. The parquet floor is suitable for basketball, handball, and volleyball. There is no dedicated official website. The arena has not undergone major structural renovations since its opening, and it has not been renamed.
