Ittihad Baladiat Mouzaïa (IBM) have used this pitch since before the 2000s. The club was founded in 1962, and the stadium has been part of the town’s sporting life ever since, hosting local cup matches as recently as 2009. The pitch itself is level and clear of the ribs and pillars that crowd many provincial grounds. On one side the stands are orange, on the other blue, and the space between the two ends is open to the sky. The grass is cut straight, and the white lines are fresh, which is what you would expect from a ground that plays in the third division of the Algerian system.

The town of Mouzaïa is in the Wilaya of Blida, and the stadium sits on the edge of the Daïra. There is no grand entrance or ticket office; the main gate is a simple doorway in the concrete wall that separates the pitch from the street. A few people stand near it, watching the players warm up. The atmosphere inside is quiet, the sort of quiet that comes from a crowd that knows the teams and the players. When a goal is scored, the reaction is loud but short-lived, the supporters moving on to the next phase of the match without the need for a chant.

The capacity is fixed at 2,000. No more, no less. The stands were built to hold that many, and they have held them for decades. The surface is natural grass, which is the only type that matters for this level of football. The ground is not a landmark, but it is a place where the game is played without pretence. The players run, the ball moves, and the spectators watch from their orange or blue seats. That is all there is to it.
