Stade du Ville

The Stade National El-Hadj Hassan Gouled Aptidon stands as a landmark in Djibouti City. It is the only stadium of its type in the capital, and for the national team, it is the only home they have known. The ground was inaugurated in 1993. The pitch is artificial turf, installed in 2007.

There are two main stands, one of which is covered by a roof.

The stadium has hosted significant moments for the country. It was the site of the first official international match for Djibouti, a draw against DR Congo in 2000. It also saw the nation's first victory in a FIFA-sanctioned match against Somalia in 2007. More recently, it hosted an athletics meeting as part of the World Athletics Continental Tour. However, the venue has faced scrutiny. In 2024, it failed to meet Category 3 standards set by the Confederation of African Football, forcing the women's national team to play their qualifiers away from home.

For the national team, the atmosphere is different, but the physical space remains the same.
