The Stadthalle Weißenfels opened in June 2002 as a multi-purpose venue. The architect Michael Schacke designed the space, and the building stands at Beuditzstraße 69a.
Inside, the seating is straightforward. There are roughly 2,300 fixed seats, with the remainder of the 3,000 capacity filled by standing room or temporary configurations depending on how the floor is set up. The primary tenant is the Syntainics MBC, a team in the Basketball Bundesliga that calls the arena the "Wolfsbau", or the Wolf's Den. The venue also hosts the UHC Sparkasse Weißenfels floorball team, but the basketball matches draw the crowds. When the hall is full, it holds 3,000 people, a number reached during a BBL match against the Skyliners Frankfurt in April 2025.
The venue has hosted the BBL Pokal Top Four tournament in recent years.
