The Süwag Energie ARENA presents a different face to Frankfurt than the football grounds in Sachsenhausen. Where Eintracht Frankfurt’s home is an outdoor bowl, this is a brick-and-mortar box for indoor sport.
The building has changed names to match its sponsors. It began as the Ballsporthalle Frankfurt, became the Fraport Arena for a decade, and took its current title in 2023.
It is owned by the city and operated by the local Sports Department. The capacity has not fluctuated significantly since the doors first opened. The arena does not host football, serving instead as a dedicated space for basketball and volleyball.
