Ubworoherane Football Stadium

Ubworoherane Football Stadium sits in the Rwebeya sector, Musanze. The ground is not large, but it holds its own. Built in 1984 by a Chinese company, it is a venue in the district capable of hosting the Rwandan National Soccer League. The capacity is 4,000. The surface is natural grass.

The stadium belongs to the Musanze District authorities. The work took two years and cost 170 million Rwandan Francs. The inaugural match ended in a 0-0 draw between Musanze F.C. Since then, the stands have seen more than just league games. In January 2020, the stadium hosted a public trial of Ndabereye Augustin, the former Vice Mayor, a rare sight for a sports venue.

There is no official website for the ground itself; information is managed through the district site and the club’s own online presence. Local media sometimes refer to it as the Stade Régionale de Musanze, but this is merely a description of its function rather than a formal title. The ground does not record attendance figures for individual matches, relying instead on the fixed limit of the seats. It is a place where football is played, but also where the community gathers.
