It opened in 1945 after being built by the General Directorate of Physical Education, though the site itself had a previous life as the 'Çukurbostan Sahası' since 1926. The capacity sits at 4,280, a figure provided by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).

Historically, the home of Vefa S.K. for decades, the ground now hosts the club's women's team in the Women's Super League alongside the amateur side of Vefa S.K. The men's team of Fatih Karagümrük, which played here for many years, moved to the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, leaving this smaller pitch to serve a different tier of Turkish football.
