Velika dvorana

In the Slovenian town of Ajdovščina, the Velika dvorana (Large Hall) is located at Cesta 5. maja 14.

The hall serves as the home ground for local handball clubs, including the women's side ŽRK Mlinotest Ajdovščina. The parquet floor provides a hard surface for matches, a quality reflected in the playing style where teams talk over technical fouls.

While the playing surface is standard for indoor athletics, the venue has also hosted cultural gatherings. The hall brought in the band Siddharta in 2003 and singer Gibonni in 2010, events that drew crowds beyond the sports community. These performances contrast with the weekly routine of handball, where the women's team went on to win the Slovenian Cup in the 2023–24 season.

The building's capacity is estimated at 800 spectators, though figures vary depending on whether the count includes standing areas. The hall sits within a larger sports centre complex, managed by the local Institute for Sport. It lacks the historical baggage of older European arenas. The concrete forecourt is empty of advertising, leaving the building's clean lines as the primary focus.
