About the player
Antonov's path to Shinnik Yaroslavl ran through Krasnodar's academy and a brief stay at Dynamo Moscow before it took an unusual turn abroad: two years in Slovakia with Zemplín Michalovce, including a loan spell at Slávia Trebišov. That stretch, followed by a spell in amateur football with Kolos before a move to Kuban, meant his path back to the professional game came through the lower tiers rather than a straight academy route.
It was at Chernomorets Novorossiysk, between 2020 and 2026, that Antonov established himself. Across roughly 133 appearances he scored 30 goals, and he was still contributing in his final season there, with four goals in 30 First League matches in 2025/26.
He joined Shinnik Yaroslavl on a free transfer in June 2026, signing a two-year contract and taking the number 7 shirt. His start in Yaroslavl has been low-key by comparison: a handful of First League appearances without a goal so far. He has not been called up to the Russian national team at any level.
