About the player
Artem Kosogorov's route back to Shinnik Yaroslavl took eight years and passed through Moscow. Born in Yaroslavl, he spent seven years in the Shinnik academy before Lokomotiv Moscow took him on at 13. He stayed with Lokomotiv until 2023, working through the youth and reserve sides and serving as vice-captain of the youth team.
He left on a free transfer to Zenit St Petersburg in June 2023, joining Zenit-2 in the Second League B, where he made 28 appearances across the 2023/24 season. When his contract expired, he did not stay in St Petersburg. In July 2024 he returned to Shinnik on a free, signing until June 2027.
Back home, Kosogorov established himself as a regular starter in the First League. In the 2024/25 season he made 27 league appearances, starting 23 of them, and added two outings in the Russian Cup. He scored once in the league and was booked eight times, with one red card among his disciplinary record.
He has not featured for any Russian national youth side or the senior team.
