Jack Harry Holmes

Jack Holmes scored his first two EFL goals on the final day of the 2025–26 season, against Wycombe Wanderers. He was in his second year at Rotherham United, having arrived without a club.

Holmes came through the academy at Burton Albion but made no senior league appearances there. His football was played further down the pyramid. In January 2020 he went on loan to Halesowen Town, where he made nine appearances and scored once. He signed permanently that September and stayed until 2024, playing 82 league games and scoring nine goals.

During 2022–23 he was also registered with Hereford, and played 28 times and scored twice in the National League North. He left in April 2023, saying he did not have the mentality for a relegation battle.

He was without a club for a time before Rotherham took him on a free transfer on 27 July 2024, after he had impressed in pre-season friendlies. The deal was for one year and was later extended by another. He played 40 league games for the club, and Rotherham were relegated from League One while he was there.

The two goals against Wycombe came at the end of that spell. Holmes left in June 2026 when he and the club could not agree a new contract. On 1 July 2026 he joined Boston United on a free transfer, signing for one year with an option for a second.
