About the player
Kristijan Bistrović spent seven years at CSKA Moscow after arriving from Slaven Belupo in January 2018 for a fee that reportedly included a sell-on clause for his old club. He marked the move almost immediately, playing the full 90 minutes in the 2018 Russian Super Cup win over Lokomotiv, and he stayed with CSKA long enough to reach his 100th appearance for the club in August 2024.
That tenure was interrupted repeatedly by loan spells rather than settled starts. Between the loans he still collected honours with CSKA: a Russian Premier League silver medal in 2017/18, a bronze in 2024/25, and the Russian Cup.
At international level, his story is one of near-misses. He was drafted into Croatia's 2018 World Cup squad as a late replacement but never earned a senior cap, and instead built his record with the under-21s, where he made 18 appearances and scored four goals between 2019 and 2021, helping the side reach the quarter-finals of that year's European Under-21 Championship.
Bistrović left CSKA in September 2025 as a free agent, joining Akron Togliatti to continue his career in the Russian top flight.
