About the player
Lassana Mané joined Vaasan Palloseura (VPS) in March 2026 on a free transfer from S.U. 1º Dezembro, on a contract running to 31 December 2026 with an option to extend for a year.
He came through the youth ranks at FC Barreirense and CS Marítimo, and his senior career began at Praíense in November 2020, in the Campeonato de Portugal. A year at Tirsense followed in Liga 3, then two seasons at CDC Montalegre, also in Liga 3.
In the summer of 2024, SC Beira-Mar signed him on a free transfer. He played 25 matches there in 2024/2025. S.U. 1º Dezembro took him on, again for nothing, in July 2025, and he stayed until the move to Finland.
Mané is a centre-back first, though he has also been used as a defensive midfielder. He plays off his right foot. He represents Guinea-Bissau at international level.
His first season in the Veikkausliiga has been a physical one: he has collected four yellow cards in 2026 and no red cards, in that league or in his two most recent seasons in Portugal.
