About the player
Midana Cassamá made his Primeira Liga debut for Portimonense on 2 December 2023 against Casa Pia. He had signed for the club in January of that year. His first league goal, against Chaves, came in a 2023–24 season in which he played 13 times and scored once.
He came up through Benfica de Bissau in Guinea-Bissau, then moved to Spain in 2021 and joined Talavera de la Reina. From there he went to Trujillo, where he played 20 games and scored three goals between 2021 and 2022.
In 2022 he moved to Portugal and signed for Merelinense. His return there was five goals in ten appearances, which is where his scoring first stood out. Portimonense signed him soon afterwards.
In 2024 he moved to the UAE Pro League. He went on loan to Dibba Al Hisn and scored five goals in 25 appearances in 2024–25. On 10 July 2025 he was loaned from Portimonense to Dibba Al-Fujairah, with the deal set to run until 30 June 2026. He remains contracted to Portimonense until 30 June 2027.
Cassamá is a Guinea-Bissau international.
