Nathan Tjoe-A-On

Nathan Tjoe-A-On came through Excelsior Rotterdam's academy after starting out at VV Nieuwerkerk, and it was there that he made his senior debut in 2019 before signing a fresh three-year deal. He stayed on to extend that contract in June 2022 and helped Excelsior win promotion to the Eredivisie that season, a run that also brought him the Johan Cruijff Talent of the Month award for September 2022.

His move abroad came in August 2023, when Swansea City paid an undisclosed fee, reported by the BBC at around £300,000, to bring him to south Wales on a three-year contract. A loan spell at SC Heerenveen followed in January 2024 to finish that season back in the Netherlands. His time in Wales included a landmark of its own: his debut against Preston North End made him the first Indonesian player to appear in the English Championship. The Swansea contract was mutually terminated in June 2025, and he joined Willem II on a free transfer the following month, agreeing a two-year deal with an option for a third season. He wasted little time making an impact there, helping the club win promotion to the Eredivisie through the play-offs, beating Volendam on penalties in the deciding leg.

Internationally, Tjoe-A-On has committed his future to Indonesia, making his senior debut against Vietnam in March 2024 in World Cup qualifying and going on to earn caps at both under-23 and senior level, including a spot in the squad for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup. He is left-footed.
