About the player
Razak Simpson captained Nations FC to the club's first FA Cup, the 2026 MTN FA Cup. The final against Dreams FC finished 5–4 on penalties. The win also put Nations into the CAF Confederation Cup.
Simpson joined Nations in August 2023 and went on to make 83 league appearances and score nine goals. He was named in the Ghana Premier League Team of the Week for a 1–0 win over Asante Kotoko.
Simpson came through Elite Soccer Academy and turned professional with Ashanti Gold in July 2019 on a five-year deal. A loan to Liberty Professionals in March 2021 gave him 16 league appearances. He then moved to West African Football Academy in October 2021 and played 13 league games before leaving in 2023.
His international career began on 15 November 2024 in a 1–1 draw with Angola. His first goal for Ghana came on 31 May 2025 in a 4–0 win over Trinidad and Tobago in the Unity Cup third-place playoff. He has won eight caps and scored once, and he was nominated for Ghana's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In 2025 clubs in Algeria and Albania showed interest in him, and Accra Hearts of Oak made an official move to sign him. In July 2026 he signed a three-year contract with Vaasan Palloseura. He has played three league games for the club so far.
Simpson has spoken publicly in favour of more local Ghanaian players being picked for the Black Stars.
