Renzo Orihuela

Renzo Orihuela came through the youth ranks at Nacional in Uruguay before his career took an unusual turn: in February 2020, while still a teenager, he was signed by Montevideo City Torque, part of the City Football Group network, for a reported fee of around 1.5 million dollars. He was immediately loaned back to Nacional, the club that had developed him, and spent the 2020–2021 season there, making 23 league appearances and scoring once. That loan spell yielded silverware — Orihuela won the Uruguayan Primera División title in 2020 and the Supercopa Uruguaya the following year.

Since then his career has been built almost entirely on loan moves away from his registered club. In January 2023 he joined Palermo in Italy's Serie B, though his time in Sicily amounted to a single appearance. He found more regular football a year later in Bolivia, where a loan spell at Bolívar in the 2024 season brought him 30 league appearances and two goals.

Orihuela moved to Sarmiento de Junín in January 2025, with an option to buy, and has featured in both the Torneo Betano and the Liga Profesional. At international level, he has represented Uruguay at under-23 level, collecting three caps, and was part of the squad for the 2023 Pan American Games.
