About the player
Robin Kalem broke into professional football at Grasshopper Club Zürich, coming through the academy he had joined after starting out at SV Lottstetten, and made his senior debut for the Zürich club against Lausanne-Sport in July 2020. He opened his goalscoring account weeks later in the Swiss Cup. Grasshopper won the Challenge League title that season, and a broken toe in April 2021 brought his campaign to an early close.
A two-year loan at FC Schaffhausen followed, where Kalem became a regular fixture in the Challenge League, making 58 appearances and scoring three goals before returning to Grasshopper. In June 2024 he moved on a free transfer to Hannover 96's reserve side, where he found the net seven times in 35 matches in the 3. Liga.
Kalem signed a three-year contract with SV Wehen Wiesbaden on a free transfer in May 2025. He was involved in the club's Hessenpokal triumph that season, a final settled on penalties against KSV Hessen Kassel after the sides finished level. A groin injury in August 2025 ruled him out of the DFB-Pokal tie against Bayern Munich.
