About the player
Waly Diouf's route to Ligue 2 ran through Lithuania, Tunisia and the Czech Republic. Born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, his professional career only began in earnest in January 2018, when he signed for Lithuanian side FK Palanga as a free agent. From there he moved to Club Africain in Tunisia, then to Vysočina Jihlava in the Czech Republic, before returning to France with FC Versailles 78 and later Nîmes Olympique.
Diouf joined Dijon on a free transfer in July 2025 on a one-year deal with an option for a second season. A right-footed defender, he made 28 appearances in the 2025–26 campaign.
At international level, Diouf represented Senegal's under-20 side at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, making five appearances without scoring. He has not featured for the senior Senegal national team.
