Zak Bradshaw

Zak Bradshaw's route to Cambridge United ran through nine different loan spells. Signed by Ipswich Town as a youth player, the left-back spent his development years being farmed out across non-league and lower-league football: Bury Town, Chelmsford City, Bromley, Braintree Town and Woking all had him on loan before he ever established himself at a club that had signed him permanently.

The pattern continued even after Lincoln City took him on a free transfer in February 2024. Rather than settling into the first team, Bradshaw went out again, first to Dundalk in the League of Ireland, then to Tranmere Rovers.

That loan spell at Tranmere appears to have shaped his move to Cambridge United, who signed him on a free transfer in June 2025 on a two-year contract, with Lincoln City retaining a future interest in the player. Left-footed and comfortable at centre-back as well as left-back, he plays predominantly as a left wing-back.

Across his loan spells, Bradshaw has shown occasional end product from defence, with goals recorded during his time at Chelmsford City, Braintree Town and Woking. He has not featured for England at any youth level.
