Al Urooba

The club itself grew out of a merger rather than a single founding: Al Wehda, from Mirbah, and Al Najma, from Qidfa, both dating to 1960, joined forces in 1972 so the two towns would field one team instead of two.

The 1991–92 Division One title took them into the top flight for the 1992–93 season, after which they spent close to three decades working their way back. They climbed out again by winning Division One a third time in 2023–24.

On the pitch, Saoud Saeed represents the other side of the club's story: he came through the Al Orooba academy and has returned to the first team more than once, in a squad that has otherwise leaned on imports from Cameroon and Brazil.

Across the water in the same emirate sits Al Fujairah Club, and games between the two are still called the Fujairah Derby.
