The team trains at the Rio Maior Sports Centre and plays its home fixtures at the Rio Maior Municipal Stadium, a 12,000-capacity ground some way from Lisbon's usual football circuits. Red and green, the national colours, carry over from the senior side, as does the nickname Seleção das Quinas.

Two European Under-18 Championships mark the side's best spell, won in 1994 and again in 1999.

José Lima took charge in 2023, by which point the team's traffic was mostly toward the senior side and the various UEFA age-group tournaments rather than toward any settled fixture list of its own.
