USM Oujda

Oujda had four small amateur clubs (Charaf, Association Sportive des Fonctionnaires, Kawkab and Union Sportive d'Oujda) and, by the late 1950s, a reason to stop splitting local talent four ways. In 1958 they merged into a single side, the Union Sportive Musulmane d'Oujda, known to everyone as USMO . Black and white became the colours of the merged club.

The city already had another club of its own. Mouloudia Oujda had existed since 1946, so USMO arrived twelve years behind and had to build its following against an established name.

The club's honours are quieter than its origins. In between came a run of titles in the third tier, the Botola Amateurs 1, in 2012, 2017 and 2021.

Mustapha Tahiri, a defender who later played for the Morocco national team, wore the shirt from 1981 to 1984. Boussif Berhil, a striker, is remembered at the club for his goals. The Stade Municipal d'Oujda, with 10,000 seats, is where both were watched.

Mouloudia is the other half of the Derby d'Oujda.
