Yverdon-Sport II

Three clubs from Yverdon-les-Bains — FC Yverdon, FC Concordia and White Star — combined on 1 July 1948 to form Yverdon-Sport, and the reserve side has carried the parent club's name and colours ever since. It plays as YS on Annex Field B of the Stade Municipal, a ground with room for about 1,000 spectators, tucked beside the main stadium's 6,600 capacity.

The team competes in the 1. Liga Classic, the fourth tier of Swiss football, though the level hasn't always held: relegation to the 2. Liga Interregional came in 2024–25, with promotion straight back for the following season. Domestically the side has one real prize on the shelf, the Coupe vaudoise, won in 2018–19 with a 1–0 final victory over Pully Football. A year earlier they had come within a penalty shootout of the same trophy, losing the 2017–18 final to FC Gland.

A reserve team rarely produces names anyone outside the town remembers, and Yverdon-Sport II is no exception on that front. What has drawn attention instead is who has passed through on their way elsewhere, or back down from elsewhere. Djibril Cissé spent two years at the club, from 2017 to 2019, well past the peak of a career that had taken him through the Premier League and the France national side.
