The most telling detail is the floor itself. While situated in a region where ice sports dominate the winter calendar, Finnmarkshallen is not a rink. The surface is artificial turf, laid over the concrete floor, a decision that dictates the type of football played here.

It sits on Skoleveien 6. That renovation added over 5,000 square meters to the structure, yet the interior retains a sense of modesty. There are 1,200 spots in total, though only 800 are fixed.

The name changes reflect the local economy rather than sporting history. Originally named Finnmarkshallen, it became SmartDokArena following a sponsorship agreement with a software company based in the construction industry. The capacity was reduced in 2008, a decision made long before the recent expansion, suggesting a careful management of the space rather than a desire for grandeur.

The atmosphere is functional.
