The ground was built to host bigger events than local football usually draws. It served as a venue for the 2016 AFF Championship, hosting the semi-final and a final leg when the crowd filled every available seat. The same capacity was reached a few weeks later for a match against Thailand. Its schedule also included the Asian Games men's football final, where South Korea faced Japan, and the AFC U-19 Championship final.
Persikabo 1973 plays its home games here. RANS Nusantara FC also calls this ground home. The pitch is natural grass, maintained with Bermuda and Zoysia varieties to survive the tropical weather. Drainage was improved during renovations to handle the heavy rain.
