Andijan and Olympik-Mobiuz played out a 2:2 draw in the Cup Round of 16 on Monday, with the home side advancing 5-4 on penalties after extra time ended goalless. The match at 90 minutes set up a tense shootout rather than producing a clear winner, and it was Andijan who kept their nerve when it mattered most.
Olympik-Mobiuz took the lead through I. Ashortia in the 44th minute, but Andijan responded quickly. R. Turdimurodov equalised just two minutes after the interval, and then R. Abdumannonov put the hosts ahead in the 52nd minute before D. Tukhsanov restored parity at 2:2 in the 57th. By then the pattern was set — two goals to each side, nothing separating them.
Extra time produced no further goals, though several yellow cards appeared. S. Yorkinboev, D. Ceran, A. Turgunboev and M. Zokhidov all received cautions as the game stretched toward the penalty spot. Andijan had the better of the shootout, converting all five attempts while Olympik-Mobiuz saw A. Makhamatov's effort saved.
The result means Andijan move through to the quarter-finals, while Olympik-Mobiuz's campaign comes to an end. The home side had been in mixed form recently — a win against Kokand-1912 followed by a heavy defeat to Pakhtakor — but this performance showed enough resilience to see them through.
Olympik-Mobiuz arrived with three wins in their last five matches, including victories over Bukhara and Aral, but they could not find a way past Andijan's defence when it counted. The shootout, as they do, decided the tie.
