Aléxandros Katránis

Aléxandros Katránis grew up in Volos and came through the academy at Atromitos, joining in 2012 and making his senior debut for the club in 2016. A year later, still only 19, he moved to France to sign for Saint-Étienne for a fee of €800,000 plus a resale clause. Across four years on the books at Saint-Étienne, Katránis never made a single first-team appearance, instead going out on loan three times, to Royal Excel Mouscron in Belgium, back to Atromitos for half a season, and to Hatayspor in Turkey, where he scored once in 22 league games. He and Saint-Étienne parted by mutual consent in August 2021.

He joined Piast Gliwice on a free transfer and spent three seasons there, making 64 league appearances. In February 2024, Real Salt Lake signed him on a contract running through 2025 with club options beyond that. He has since been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday.

Katránis has represented Greece at every youth level from the under-17s to the under-21s, scoring for both the under-19 and under-21 sides, though a senior cap has yet to follow despite call-ups to the squad.
