Dayan Perez

Dayan David Pérez Gélvez made his professional debut for Cúcuta Deportivo on 6 May 2025, coming on as a substitute in the 74th minute against Real Santander in the Torneo I-2025. He was 16 years old. He spent around twelve years developing at Sport Junior in Los Patios before Deportivo Independiente Medellín's academy brought him in, where he won the Liga Antioqueña and the Torneo Nacional Sub-17.

He arrived at Cúcuta Deportivo's Sub-20 squad in late 2024. Within the youth ranks he made his mark in the Supercopa Juvenil, contributing one goal and one assist. Pérez was part of the broader Cúcuta Deportivo squad structure when the club won the Torneo Clausura 2025, sealing the title on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate draw with Real Cundinamarca in the final, with Lucas Ríos and Jhonatan Agudelo among the scorers in the second leg. The result secured Cúcuta's promotion to the Primera A for the 2026 season, though Pérez's role in that campaign was mainly with the Sub-20 side rather than as a regular in the first team that won the final.

Pérez took part in microcycles with Colombia's Sub-15 side in 2023 and was later called up into the Sub-17 setup.
