Florian Bohnert

Bohnert came through the youth ranks at FC Avenir Beggen before moving on to Racing FC Union Luxembourg and then to 1. FC Saarbrücken. His senior career began at FC Schalke 04 II, and from there he played for FK Pirmasens and 1. FSV Mainz 05 II, scoring five goals in 31 appearances during his spell in Pirmasens.

A return to Luxembourg followed in July 2021, when he joined FC Progrès Niederkorn, where he made 42 appearances and scored three goals. In January 2023 he moved to France to sign for SC Bastia on a free transfer, initially agreeing a contract until 2025 before extending his stay. He made 104 appearances for the club and scored twice.

It is with the Luxembourg national team that Bohnert has built the most significant part of his career. Capped since 2016, he has become one of the most-capped players in his country's history, with 63 caps to his name. His only international goal came on 6 September 2016, in a 2018 World Cup qualifier away to Bulgaria that Luxembourg won 3–4.

Much of his club career has been spent outside the top divisions, in Germany's regional leagues, the Luxembourg National Division and, at Bastia, in the French second tier. In June 2026 he left Bastia to join Hansa Rostock on a free transfer, signing a contract to 2028.
