About the player
Julián Alveiro Quiñónes García began his professional career at Independiente Santa Fe, making his debut in 2011 under coach Wilson Gutiérrez. Over 78 appearances there he scored twice and won the Torneo Apertura in 2012 as well as the Superliga de Colombia the following year, while the club reached the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores in 2012.
His move to Deportes Tolima in January 2014 turned into the defining spell of his career. He made 377 appearances and scored 25 goals, reaching the milestone of 350 matches for the club in May 2024 and closing in on the all-time appearance record held by Germán Castellanos. He lifted the Copa Colombia in 2014, the Torneo Apertura in both 2018 and 2021, and the Superliga de Colombia in 2022, a run that made him the player with the most titles in Tolima's history.
Quiñónes joined Deportivo Cali in 2025, adding 22 appearances — 21 in the league and one in the cup — and a single goal before a further move to Deportivo Pasto in 2026. A right-footed centre-back.
