Jordin Bagg

Jordyn Bugg's route to San Diego Wave's training pitches ran through her own back garden, in a manner of speaking: she grew up in El Cajon, California, and spent her teenage years working under the club's own defenders, Naomi Girma and Abby Dahlkemper, while still at school. Before that arrangement, she had already won a national ECNL championship with San Diego Surf SC.

College had been the plan. Bugg committed first to Stanford, then switched her intentions to Florida, before deciding against university altogether. On 19 July 2024 she signed her first professional contract instead, joining Seattle Reign FC — now OL Reign — on a two-and-a-half-year deal under NWSL's under-18 provisions.

She has settled into the first team since. By the middle of 2026, the left-footed defender had made 35 appearances for the club and scored three goals, wearing the number 23 shirt.

Bugg worked her way up through the United States youth setup across several age groups, from the under-16s to the under-23s, before her senior international debut in June 2025.
