About the player
Maël Corboz's route into professional football ran through American college soccer rather than a traditional academy pipeline. Born in Mobile, Alabama, he played for Rutgers and then Maryland before signing with New York Red Bulls as a Homegrown Player in 2015.
That switch to MSV Duisburg opened the door to a steady climb through German football. Off the pitch, he founded the "goalsfortomorrow" initiative in 2023.
He was named Player of the Season for 2024/25 in the 3. Bundesliga campaign has contributed 3 goals and 4 assists in 34 appearances.
