Nicolas Gil Uribe

Nicolás Gil was born in Rionegro but grew up in nearby Guarne, where he took up football before making his way into professional ranks with Independiente Santa Fe. He was part of the Santa Fe squad that won the Torneo Finalización 2016, though he did not feature in any competitive matches that season. His own debut came later, on 10 February 2018, after which he settled into a run of first-team football before leaving on a free transfer in January 2020.

Since then, Gil's career has followed a steady path around Colombian football rather than a single defining move. He spent two and a half years at Itagüí Leones, then joined Unión Magdalena in July 2022, again as a free agent. Every transfer along the way has been made without a fee changing hands, a pattern that continued when he arrived at Deportivo Pasto in January 2024, where he now wears the number 5 shirt.

A left-footed defender, Gil has yet to add a major title to his career beyond that early medal from his Santa Fe days, and he has not been capped by Colombia at any level. His trajectory has been one of consistent movement between clubs rather than a breakthrough moment, with Pasto marking the latest stop in a career built on regular transfers.
