Sebastien Uchechukwu Ibeagha

Born in Warri, Nigeria, he came up through the Houston Dynamo Academy before moving into college soccer with the Duke Blue Devils, where his form at centre-back earned him the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award in 2012, First Team All-ACC honours in both 2012 and 2013, and a spot on the NSCAA All-American Third Team in his final year.

His senior career began in Denmark with AC Horsens, including loan spells at FC Fredericia and Fram Reykjavík, before he returned to the United States to sign with Houston Dynamo on a free transfer. He did not make a first-team appearance there, spending that year out on loan at Rio Grande Valley FC and Rayo OKC instead. He anchored a defence that put together the second-longest shutout streak in USL history and led the league in clearances, form that brought him the USL Defender of the Year award and a place on the USL All-League First Team.

That performance opened the door to New York City FC on a free transfer, and from there to Los Angeles FC, who paid $150,000 in General Allocation Money to sign him. His time at LAFC was the most decorated of his career: he won both the MLS Cup and the Supporters' Shield in 2022. He joined FC Dallas on a free transfer in 2023 and has held down a regular starting role at centre-back since.
