Acopiara

The club that plays under the name Futebol Clube Acopiara Academy did not start life in Acopiara at all: it was formed in Juazeiro do Norte on 23 February 1985, founded by Suarez Leite Machado, Jânio Batista, Raimundo Rodrigues Couto and Raimundinho as Associação Esportiva Campo Grande. For decades it stayed in local and regional amateur football before joining the Ceará Football Federation in 2015 to compete professionally in the state's third tier.

Everything else changed in early 2024. Blockchain Sports, a group from Belarus led by Saksonau Dzmitry, moved the club's base to Acopiara and renamed it Futebol Clube Acopiara Academy on 6 February, attaching it to a planned academy project, the Blockchain Sports Academy, built around an initial outlay of 300 million reais to develop young players. Running the club is Lima de Moura, born in Acopiara himself, who played as a professional for spells including Flamengo's youth ranks, FK Ventspils and Lechia Gdańsk.

The club's own ground, the Estádio Capitão João Sotero, holds around 2,000 people, which is often not enough: home fixtures regularly move to the larger Estádio Morenão in neighbouring Iguatu, with room for 10,000 to 12,000. The kit stays in black and white, black at home with white trim, white on the road.
