Where many modern stadiums use a simple arch or a complex web of steel, this one relies on those four distinct towers. The interior is vast and flat, with no columns to block the view. The artificial surface is bright green, contrasting with the blue and white of the UTSA Roadrunners branding that covers the end zones. The fans sit close to the pitch, but the distance to the highest seats creates a sense of enclosure that feels different from an open-air ground.

The venue is not tied to one sport, which changes how it is used. It has hosted a NBA Final Four, but it also sits empty for weeks between college football matches. The current tenants play here regularly, but the schedule is built around major tournaments rather than a single team. The renovation for the NCAA tournament changed the concourses, adding height and new screens, but the basic shape remained the same. The sound inside is different too; without the wind, the noise stays within the walls, and the band on the sideline sounds louder than it would outside.

There is a quietness to the building when it is not full. The pylons stand still against the city backdrop, and the traffic on the road below continues as if the stadium is just another part of the infrastructure. The artificial turf does not wear down the same way as grass, so the pitch looks the same regardless of the last match. It is a place that exists for the event, rather than the event existing for the place.
