Anfield Sports & Community Centre

The Anfield Sports & Community Centre sits in Breckside Park, a short distance from the famous Anfield Stadium. It was built to replace the Vernon Sangster Sports Centre, which had occupied the site for over half a century. The land was acquired by Liverpool FC in the early 2000s, and the club fulfilled a promise to provide a new community facility in exchange. A major £2.3 million redevelopment was completed and officially opened in December 2015, funded by a partnership including Liverpool FC, Liverpool City Council, the Premier League & FA Facilities Fund, Sport England, and the Johan Cruyff Foundation.

The main pitch is a 4G artificial turf, and the venue serves as the home ground for Lower Breck Football Club, which competes in the Northern Premier League Division One West. The club was founded in 2010, and the attendance record at the venue is 646 spectators, set during the 2024/25 Premier Division play-off final against Padiham in May 2025. Seating is limited: a 50-seat stand in the south-west corner, installed in 2018, and uncovered hard-standing areas along the western side. The eastern and northern sides are not accessible to spectators.

The facility is also used by Emley A.F.C. for FA Cup matches and serves as the permanent base for the Liverpool FC Foundation's community charitable activities. The venue does not have a standalone official website; bookings are managed via the Liverpool FC Foundation booking system or third-party platforms like Hire A Pitch. It has not undergone any sponsorship-based name changes under its current identity.
