Anthony Field at Wildcat Stadium
Abilene, United States
Anthony Field at Wildcat Stadium stands in Abilene, Texas, as the home of the Abilene Christian University Wildcats. It replaced Shotwell Stadium, which had served the university since 1959. The new ground opened on September 16, 2017, with the first fixture a match against Houston Baptist that the Wildcats won 24–3. The project cost $50 million and was designed by HKS, Inc., with Hoar Construction handling the build.
The pitch is artificial turf. There are also two sets of football posts visible on the field, suggesting the ground is shared with other sports.
Since its opening, the stadium has hosted events outside of university football. A NEEDTOBREATHE concert took place on September 15, 2017, and a DCI Drum Corps International performance was held on August 5, 2024. High school football playoffs have also been played here, including a match on November 23, 2018. The stadium holds 12,000 spectators.
