Fisher Stadium
Easton, United States
Formerly: Fisher Field
Fisher Stadium in Easton, Pennsylvania, sits differently from the other college grounds in the region. That renovation did not just update the facilities; it altered the shape of the game played there.
Before that, the field was natural grass, a surface that demanded more care and dictated the rhythm of the season. The artificial turf arrived alongside new lighting, allowing for the first night football game in September 2007 against Marist.
The stadium also handles the 'Battle for the Forks of the Delaware', the annual Thanksgiving Day clash between Easton Area High School and Phillipsburg High School. This fixture has been played there since 1915, predating the current structure but continuing in it.
The 2006 renovation settled the numbers at 13,132 seats.
The atmosphere shifts when Lehigh University travels for 'The Rivalry' every other year. The 1948 attendance record of 21,000 still stands, a number that seems distant now, but it reminds everyone that this ground has seen bigger crowds.
