Fitton Field

The stadium has been here a long time. It opened in 1908, which makes it one of the oldest venues of its kind in the country, but the age is not always obvious.

The pitch itself is natural grass , cut straight and marked with white lines that stretch from one end to the other. The field is used for American football, but the same ground has hosted baseball since 1905, a dual purpose that requires the turf to be maintained carefully through different seasons.

The stadium does not have a permanent roof, a fact that has not stopped it from hosting games in every kind of weather since the early twentieth century.
