Ken Riley Field at Bragg Memorial Stadium

Ken Riley Field at Bragg Memorial Stadium sits quietly on the Florida A&M University campus, a place where the game is played in the shade of its own history. The most striking feature of the ground is its playing surface.

The stadium’s identity changed in 2023 when it was renamed Ken Riley Field, honouring the Hall of Fame player and coach. Before that, it was known simply as Bragg Stadium, having moved from its original location in 1947. The structure itself tells a story of survival. It opened in 1957, but by 1980 engineers had condemned the building. A major renovation followed, expanding the capacity to its current 25,500 seats. The current look of the stands is largely the result of that mid-century rebuild.

On December 2, 2023, the ground hosted the SWAC Football Championship Game, where Florida A&M defeated Prairie View A&M 35–14. The stadium has never hosted an NCAA playoff game, and it sits roughly two miles north of the larger Doak Campbell Stadium, home to the Florida State Seminoles. The atmosphere here is different from the university’s other venue.
