Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium
Logan, United States
Formerly: Romney Stadium
A large NWC logo sits at the centre of the field.
The ground opened on September 14, 1968, and has been the home of the Utah State Aggies ever since. It was built with money raised from the students themselves. The first match was against New Mexico State, a game the Aggies won 28-12. The capacity grew over time, reaching 30,257 after the volunteers filled the southern end, before the NCAA changed the rules on space per seat and the total was cut back to 25,513. The name changed from Romney Stadium when Maverik bought the rights and the surface was named for Merlin Olsen. The last big rebuild finished in 2016, bringing a four-storey box to the front. On October 23, 2010, a bronze statue of Olsen went up outside the main entrance.
