Nickerson Field
Boston, United States
Formerly: Braves Field, National League Park, Boston University Field
It hosted the American Football League in its early years, when the Boston Patriots played the first game in the league's history in front of a sell-out crowd. That record attendance was 27,123, though the current card lists a capacity of 9,871. The university bought the land in 1953 and renamed it after a former athletic field, though the name has shifted several times since.
Football teams have used the ground since the 1970s, but the university's own Terriers have been the steady tenants for decades, fielding sides in soccer, lacrosse and rugby.
